Delhi services need neighbourhood-level accountability

Residents experience the city through a street, ward or local facility, not through a citywide average. Drainage, water, heat relief, road repair and public notices can vary sharply between nearby neighbourhoods. Clear responsibility and response times make it easier to judge whether a service is working.nnDelhi Chronicle will follow complaints to the responsible agency and report what changed, rather than treating an announcement as a completed repair.

Neighbourhood reporting also needs a time dimension: how long a service has been unavailable, whether the agency met its promised date and whether the repair lasted. Delhi Chronicle will use that follow-up to show the difference between a response and a solution.
